Pierre Redoute.

Pierre Redoute (1759-1840) was the most celebrated botanical artist in France and was court painter for four successive Queens. This collection of his work was first published in 1833 and represents the pinnacle of his career. The book is a facsimile of the complete work and contains reproductions of all 144 of the original colour plates. There is also a short introductory text. This volume was beautifully printed on very fine cream paper. A very large heavy book.
