Allyson Hayward.

Between the two world wars of the twentieth century Norah Lindsay was one of the most celebrated garden designers in Britain and continental Europe. She designed gardens for the Prince of Wales at Windsor, Nancy Astor at Cliveden, Prince Otto von Bismarck at Friedrichsruh, Germany and Princess Aspasia at Venice, as well as many others. She worked with her friend Lawrence Johnston to create the famous garden at Hidcote. She had developed her skills in her own beautiful, and highly regarded garden, the Manor House at Sutton Courtenay, Oxfordshire. A very beautiful volume full of historic and modern photographs. A large heavy book.
