Originally based on a series of articles written for the Lyttelton Times and first published in book form in 1910, this fourth edition was substantially revised and updated with much new material added, there are 136 illustrations. Cockayne’s book deals with the plant life of New Zealand as a whole and describes it along ecological lines. It was a pioneering work that soon became a classic and was for many years the standard text on the subject. This is the fourth and final edition.
