An account of the remarkable and scientifically accurate botanical paintings produced by Fanny Osborne in the early 1900s at her home on Great Barrier Island. All of the 48 paintings reproduced in the book are held by the Auckland Museum and had not previously been published. Colour plate 12 is of a mistletoe, Elytranthe adamsii, now believed to be extinct. There is also a biography of the artist describing her life on the island. A large book.
